King Of Change has been ruled out of Royal Ascot, with trainer Richard Hannon opting to wait for a late summer campaign instead.

The Farhh colt stepped up dramatically on a previous Nottingham novice stakes victory when being beaten only two and a half lengths by Magna Grecia in the 2000 Guineas at the start of May.

Hannon had been considering a couple of options for King Of Change at next month’s feature meeting, but feels it best to bide his time with the 2020 season also in mind.

Hannon said: “The St James’s Palace Stakes and the Jersey were in the mix, but we are going to wait until August/September time with him.

“He had a hard race in the Guineas and we are happy to mind him as we are thinking of next year.

“I’d like to leave him alone until later in the season. I think a mile is his trip but he will get a mile and a quarter. He is a very good horse.”
