Raucous will try to end a successful 2019 campaign in the Bengough Stakes at Ascot next month.
Trainer Robert Cowell is eyeing the Group Three over six furlongs for his in-form sprinter after he took the scalp of Group One winner Pretty Pollyanna in the Listed Hopeful Stakes at Newmarket last month.
Victory was due reward following excellent placed efforts in two big handicaps, the Wokingham at Royal Ascot and the Stewards’ Cup at Glorious Goodwood.
It is possible Raucous could take in another one, the William Hill Ayr Gold Cup on September 21 first.
“He’s in the Ayr Gold Cup which we might run him in, but we’ll see what the weights look like and what the ground’s like,” said Cowell.
“His ultimate target is the Bengough Stakes at Ascot. That’s where his last race of the year will probably be and then we’ll make a plan to see what we do with him next year.
“He’s a really likeable individual. He tries hard and he’s had a really good season.”
