Connections of Sinawann will decide in the next few days whether to let the exciting colt line up for the Beresford Stakes at the Curragh.
Winner of a maiden over the Beresford course and distance on his second start, Mick Halford’s charge was stepped up to Group Two level for the KPMG Champions Juvenile Stakes at Leopardstown.
The son of Kingman found the Aidan O’Brien-trained Mogul a little too strong on Irish Champions Weekend, but emerged with plenty of credit after finishing a clear second – and could get a second chance to open his account at Pattern level next Sunday.
Halford said: “He ran a very good race in Leopardstown and he seems to have come out of it really well.
“He holds an entry in the Beresford and I’ll speak to Pat Downes (manager for the Aga Khan’s Irish studs) and make a decision from there. Straight after the race we said we’d leave it a week or so before deciding where we go.
“It was only his third run in Leopardstown, he ran a lovely race and hopefully he’ll improve again.”
