Ryan Moore paid tribute to Sir Michael Stoute’s late partner Coral Pritchard-Gordon after completing a treble at Kempton with an emotional success aboard My Frankel.

A hugely popular figure in Newmarket and a regular attendee at the races with the Classic-winning trainer, Pritchard-Gordon, 73, died on Tuesday following an 11-month battle with illness.

On a poignant day, Moore – sporting a black armband – notched a hat-trick highlighted by the two-length victory of the Frankel colt for Stoute in the Unibet Casino Deposit £10 Get £40 Bonus Novice Stakes.

Moore said “I loved Coral and thought the world of her.”

On the 100-30 winner, who was too good for joint-favourites Dubai Welcome and Brentford Hope, he added: “He won nicely at Leicester and has stepped forward today. The race set up nicely for him and I’d say that is his trip.”

Lucid Dreamer (7-1) made the perfect start to her career to initiate Moore’s haul – and a double for trainer Roger Charlton – with a front-running length-and-a-quarter success in the Unibet/British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes.

Ben James, pupil assistant to Charlton, said: “When she came in she was quite a light filly.

“Her mind has come right. She was a bit keen and a bit gassy early, but the last month she has just settled down into being a racehorse and I think that showed when Ryan went to the front.

“She settled, and though she didn’t quite know what her job was, she wasn’t massively green at the same time so we are happy with her.”

Conscious (15-2) will head to the Tattersalls August Sale on the back of a win after providing Moore and Charlton with further success when running out a two-length winner in division one of the Unibet Casino Deposit £10 Get £40 Bonus Handicap.

James said: “The last day didn’t go his way, but he did everything right today. Ryan gave him a lovely ride, especially from a difficult draw. He is in the sales and that is probably where he will head next.”

Mostly has a long way to go to match the exploits of her Group One-winning close relation Journey – but there was plenty to like about her success on her first start in 294 days in the British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes.

Thady Gosden, assistant to his father, John, said: “They didn’t go overly quick, but she picked up well in the straight. The further she went, the better she went.

“She had a little setback, but we’ve now got her back and fortunately she has run well.

“We will probably take her back to the turf and step her up in trip, whether that is a mile or a mile and a quarter we will see.”

Performance of the day went to the Mick Appleby-trained Breckland (9-2) who struck gold at the third time of asking with a seven-and-a-half-length victory in the Unibet 3 Boosts A Day Nursery Handicap.

Winning jockey Ali Rawlinson said: “He has been a little bit tricky at home. He wants to do everything flat out and is always in a rush

“If you want to walk he wants to trot and if you want him to canter he wants to gallop. It’s been very kid gloves with him.

“You can see from Chepstow to Lingfield to now that every performance he has done he has come on from. I still don’t think he is the finished article after a third run.”
