Jedd O’Keeffe is to give Tavus a choice of engagements at the Cheltenham Festival.

The talented four-year-old already holds an entry in the JCB Triumph Hurdle and the North Yorkshire trainer plans to put him in the Boodles Fred Winter Juvenile Novices’ Handicap Hurdle.

Tavus has earned a run at jump racing’s biggest fixture with wins at Newcastle and Wetherby from three starts.

“Tavus is absolutely fine. He’s in great shape,” said O’Keeffe.

“He’s obviously got an entry in the Triumph. He’s going to have an entry in the Fred Winter and I suspect he’ll be going straight to Cheltenham for his next start.

“There’s no rush to make a decision. We’ve obviously got his handicap mark now, so we can just monitor things and see.”
