Trainer Tony Carroll registered a quickfire double at Kempton on Monday headlined by the victory of Kondratiev Wave in the 32Red Conditions Stakes.
A fast-track qualifier for All-Weather Championships Finals Day, Hollie Doyle set the pace from the front in the six-furlong contest and the 5-2 shot battled gamely to get the better of Amarillo Star and Fleeting Prince in a thrilling three-way finish.
Despite his victory, Carroll is uncertain whether his charge will line up at Lingfield on Good Friday.
“He’s very tough and a very likeable horse,” he said.
“It’s possible that he’ll go to Lingfield but we’ll have to talk to the owners, there are plenty of other opportunities along the way.”
Carroll was quick to praise Doyle, who went on to complete a treble through Starlight Romance (8-1) in the EBF Stallions Breeding Fillies’ Handicap and Mistress Nellie (5-2 favourite) in division one of the 32Red On The App Store Handicap.
He added: “The results speak for themselves, she’s in great form and is a fantastic jockey.”
The Worcestershire-based handler got off the mark earlier on the card when Wiley Post held on to win the 32Red.com handicap.
The seven-year-old was sent off at 13-2 after finishing second on his previous start at Lingfield, but went one better under 7lb apprentice jockey Elisha Whittington to give her a fifth winner of the month.
“He was ridden very well by Elisha, she’s riding with a lot of confidence and is in flying form,” Carroll said.
“It’s tough for these kids, but she’s taking the opportunities when she can.”
Carroll was close to registering a treble with Winnetka but was denied by a nose from Hello Baileys (10-1) in the 32Red Casino Handicap.
Lydia Richard’s City Tour backed up his recent course and distance win when justifying 9-4 favouritism in the 32Red/EBF Handicap under Rab Havlin.
There was a shock in the first division of the 32Red On The App Store Handicap, with John Jenkins’ 16-1 shot Wally’s Wisdom defeating favourite Double Legend (11-8).
