James Tate is hoping Hey Gaman can return to action later in the year following a setback which has delayed his seasonal reappearance.
The talented five-year-old enjoyed a successful campaign in 2019, winning Listed and Group Three races on his first two starts and running with credit at Group One and Group Two level later on.
He earned a trip to America for the Breeders’ Cup Mile at Santa Anita and was not disgraced, eventually being beaten four and three-quarter lengths in seventh place behind Uni.
“He just had a little setback a few weeks ago,”said Tate.
“I hope it’s not serious and hopefully you’ll see him back later in the year.
“It’s too early to talk about plans.”
