Ronald Pump may go for the baroneracing.com Hatton’s Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse later this month after coming out of a final-flight fall at Navan on Sunday unscathed.
Trainer Matthew Smith reported the Stayers’ Hurdle runner-up to be none the worse following his tumble in the Grade Two Lismullen Hurdle won by Sire Du Berlais.
Ronald Pump was sticking to his task on the heels of the leaders and had every chance of getting in the places.
“He’s fine, no bother on him,” said Smith on Monday.
“He was staying on and he was back on terms with the other two jumping the last. I think he’d have gone close.
“The main thing is that the horse and Keith (Donoghue) are all right.
“He’s entered up in the Hatton’s Grace. It’s still an option. We’ll see how he is, but he seems to have come out of the race fine and he’s all right this morning.”
