Lucy Wadham has earmarked the Unibet Lanzarote Hurdle as the next target for progressive mare The White Mouse.
The seven-year-old will attempt make it a hat-trick of victories for the season when stepping back up in class in the Listed prize at Kempton on Saturday.
Having made a triumphant return following a 595-day lay off at Wincanton in November, the Emma Banks-owned mare followed up when successfully defying an 8lb rise at Cheltenham last month.
Wadham said: “The White Mouse was a progressive novice then she sustained an injury.
“She had that time out, but she has come back a much stronger mare and she seems to be over her injury.
“We thought she was well handicapped at Wincanton and when she won well we were reasonably confident at Cheltenham.
“The plan now is to go for the Lanzarote. It’s not often they win three handicaps on the bounce, but we don’t know her ceiling yet.”
The Newmarket handler expects The White Mouse to be seen to even greater effect when switched to fences next season.
She added: “We were going to give her one run over hurdles then go chasing, but as she has done well over hurdles we are sticking with that.
“I think she will be great over a fence and there are so many options for mares.
“There are not many options for mares over two miles, but as she stays well so she will have lots of races to go at over fences.”
