Verdict
Uptown Harry rolled back the years to account for Shadow Chaser by more than eight lengths at Newcastle, although the runner-up is significantly better off at the weights and has switched from Sandy Thomson to the Mark Walford team. Thomson could still land the spoils with ROB ROY MACGREGOR, who took a step forward to chase home a lightly-raced novice at Ayr and is open to further improvement himself. Super Citizen is worth a look with Brian Hughes back on board.
Expert View Verdict
ROB ROY MACGREGOR put in some nice late work in reapplied cheekpieces at Ayr last time and the stiffer nature of this track should suit ideally. His yard does well with its staying chasers and it's surely a matter of time before he's getting his head in front over fences. Shadow Chaser might be capable of a bigger effor yet for his new yard, with cheekpices now enlisted. He does have a nagging stamina query, however. Super Citizen isn't getting any younger but was in winning form here two starts back and is another to consider.
