Expert Analysis
A tightly knit Group 3, six of the fillies rated between 98 and 103, and less than three lengths covered them in the finish. The pace was stop-start, and the three-year-olds filled the frame.
BELIEVED stepped up on her recent run at Gowran Park, suited by this more galloping track, and looked a strong stayer at this trip. Her usual hood taken off, she raced towards the rear of the field, taking time to pick up before staying on strongly. She looks one that can improve again for further, connections perhaps thinking that way as she holds an entry in the Long Distance Cup.
AMELIA EARHART, one-time favourite for the Oaks, ran her race without suggesting there is much more to come.
CAUGHT U SLEEPING is a consistent sort that has been running well in these races all season. She was keeping on again late and may get further despite having a speedy pedigree.
SNAPRETEND was having her first run since May and shaped well, perhaps making her move sooner than ideal. She is suited by slower ground, and this should set her up for the autumn.
BOSPHORUS ROSE won the Lenabane Stakes in good style last time and appeared to have leading claims on that form. She was raced a little keenly and travelled best to two the two-furlong point, looking the most likely winner, but did not find as much as seemed likely before fading out of the frame.
CAMEO had been below her best on recent starts but ran better here without ever holding a winning chance. She kept on steadily from the rear of the field.
ANKARA failed to improve on her second start for Joseph O’Brien.
ICE DANCER made the running but weakened early in the straight.
