Verdict

CATCH CATCHFIRE was just denied in the Surrey National by leading Eider fancy Aworkinprogress last month and the seven-year-old, who remains unexposed with regards to a stamina test, makes plenty of appeal, despite a 5lb rise from the handicapper. Jubilee Express probably found the ground too fast for him when sent off favourite for the Welsh National and is definitely worth another chance, while Ithaka's win at Hereford suggested further improvement was likely over fences.

Expert View Verdict

Last year's winner Art Decco is again respected, for all that he needs to bounce back from a lesser effort at Lingfield last time. He was earlier in winning form over C&D and could bounce back, but ICAQUE DE L'ISLE has long looked as though he could thrive faced with a marathon test and now he gets one. He showed a good attitude to win at Lingfield last time on his first run over fences in 13 months, and a 5lb rise looks perfectly reasonable. Jubilee Express struggled on ground that was too quick in the Welsh National and could easily bounce back here with conditions much more suitable.
