Expert Analysis
A truly run Group 3, the overall time 3.42 seconds faster than the rated contest over the same trip earlier on the card, and it looks solid form, the two highest-rated fillies coming clear. The runner-up shaped as well as the winner, travelling powerfully throughout, and may still have needed this run.
FLORESTA looked up to this level last season but had disappointed on return in May before bouncing back in first-time cheekpieces here, her trainer also suggesting that hold-up tactics helped. She raced in mid-division before making headway early in the straight and staying on strongly late. Two miles may suit even better.
GOODIE TWO SHOES was runner-up in the Melbourne Cup last November and looked as good as ever on just her second start since. She travelled best and hit the front two furlongs out only to be worn down close home by the winner. A return trip to Australia is likely, all being well, and she looks a better mare on fast ground.
PERFECT YOUR CRAFT had no excuses. She had a good position turning in when making her challenge but was soon left behind by the winner and runner-up.
NUIT was held up before making good headway but looking awkward under pressure. She remains a maiden after 11 runs.
JANNAH STAR raced a detached last and made some late headway.
BLOOM made the running but was left behind early in the straight.
GALILEO DAME was never competitive and would prefer slower ground.
DREAMKEEPER looked stretched by this trip, travelling quite well down the inner and unable to get a run before flattening out. Handicaps look more her level.
ICE DANCER raced up with the pace early before dropping to midfield around halfway.
