Expert Analysis
Usually not one of the strongest novice hurdles of its grade, though it was won by Al Boum Photo before that one went onto big things over fences. This was a slightly tactical affair, the clear leader left to his own devices to a degree and the pace the slowest of the 3 hurdles races at the distance on the card (approximately 105% finishing speed).
NICK ROCKETT (h149+ here, 127+ previously) has done very well in a short space of time, this making it 2 out of 2 over hurdles, and further improvement should be forthcoming. He was soon in second, improved well to lead before 2 out and really extended his advantage on the run-in. He is already a point winner, and looks a good prospect for this trip and further.
THECOMPANYSERGEANT (h134 here, 130 previously) ran well, though perhaps not achieving a huge amount in a well-beaten second, prominent in the main group but one paced late on. He has shown some pace to date but is quite stoutly bred.
PARMENION (h134 here, 139 previously) under-performed slightly, not always fluent and further back than the 2 who beat him but getting there with a chance briefly 2 out.
DEEP CAVE (h125 here, 141 previously) had decent claims on form, of a place at least, but disappointed, in trouble approaching 3 out.

DOCTOR BRAVO (h0 here, 140 previously) had place claims at least on his eighth in the much hotter Supreme Novices’ at Cheltenham but threw in his first poor effort.
HO MY LORD (h0 here, 131 previously) blundered at the third and was never a factor after.
THE GUNNER YEATS (h133? here, 138 previously) sadly suffered a fatal fall 2 out, headed shortly before that.
