Expert Analysis
There was a surprise winner of this Group 3 with Chantez landing her first success since her juvenile days, though the draw played a part - the first and second drawn in the two highest stalls as the field came near side, the third drawn lowest but making her challenge up the near rail, too.
CHANTEZ reversed form with the well-backed runner to cause a shock though her draw was a contributing factor. She travelled nicely behind a strong pace before arriving to lead toward the finish and is worth persisting with in sprints having spent much of her career racing over further.
SOUL LOVE had beaten the winner when they met in July, but had no answer in the closing stages, perhaps paying for racing closer to the pace. A likeable type, she is open to further improvement and was not helped by a stumble around halfway.
DANCING SAXON has been one of the most progressive fillies around this season, improving over 20lbs in the ratings, and she ran another good race while also shaping as if a return to seven furlongs would suit.
HAVANA ANNA returned to form after a disappointing effort last time, travelling strongly for much of the race.
FIRST INSTINCT had obvious form claims but was not at her best. Her track position off the near rail was not ideal but otherwise she had no excuses, though her rider did not give her a hard time late.
FOCACCIA made the running before weakening in the final furlong, typically flashing her tail.
TEMPERANCE was out of her depth.
TREASURE ROSE was out of her depth and found this trip too sharp.
