Verdict
Stepping up to 2m4f has really brought out the best in JOHN BARBOUR, whose only defeat over that trip came at the hands of an improver in November. His latest Uttoxeter triumph was cosier than the winning margin suggests and he is taken to defy a further 3lb rise. Baratablet let favourite-backers down at Kelso but he remains of interest, while Junker D'allier can't be ruled out back over hurdles.
Expert View Verdict
JOHN BARBOUR can continue his progress here. He's only gone up 3lb for his latest victory and his previous placed effort proved that he handled this softer surface. The similarly progressive Kalium looks the obvious danger as though he failed to fully convince with his stamina for 2 1/2m last time it's more likely that his fitness gave way late. Of those at bigger prices North Parade makes some appeal. He has hinted at a revival on his last couple of starts despite some sub optimal rides and has dropped to an attractive mark.
