Verdict

Imola has maintained a fine level of consistency during a busy winter and found just one too strong off this mark at Southwell last week. She has yet to fully convince with her stamina for this sort of distance, though, whereas SILKIES SIB has been performing well in defeat over further and was successful the last time he encountered this track and trip. Scenario was alongside him that day and then pipped Naughty Niall, although her two subsequent efforts haven't been as good.

Top Tip: Silkies Sib (7)
Watch out for: Imola (1)

Expert View Verdict

Probably best to focus on in-form pair SILKIES SIB and Imola. The selection edges the vote on account of being a former C&D winner who has the benefit of a capable rider claiming a hand 5lb off his back. He ran right up to his best at Lingfield last time. Imola continues in fine form herself, mainly at Southwell of late, but she did run well over an extended mile at the course in January. Naughty Niall is third choice having run well in defeat over C&D two starts back, appearing not to get home over further at Southwell last time.
