Verdict
Cases can be made for most of these, but marginal preference is for EPICTETUS. Jamie Osborne's gelding was a close third over C&D two weeks ago and he makes plenty of appeal off the same mark. Hitched was a place in front of him that day, but did not match that level when fifth at Southwell last week. Tribal Wisdom and Farasi Lane are others to note.
Expert View Verdict
An open race can go to EPICTETUS who bounced back to form when placed off this mark last time. He hasn't won since landing a Group 3 in 2023 but his mark has tumbled of late and he should be able to reverse recent form with Hitched. That rival has proven consistent off similar marks for a long time and his last run is worth marking up as he was unsuited by the way the race developed. He can fill the places with Farasi Lane who endured a torrid 2025 but plummeted in the weights as a result and hinted at a revival last time.
