The classy GAUCHER can defy a penalty reverting to hurdling for the first time in nearly a year. Willie Mullins' charge returned the clear-cut winner of a Grade 3 contest at Tipperary when last seen over timber and the seven-year-old arrives on the back of a couple of fine efforts in Group 3 races on the Flat at Leopardstown. El Cairos has faced tough tasks since landing a maiden hurdle at Thurles back in January. However, he has every chance on these terms and is preferred to the likes of Samui and Balko D'ange.

It is hard to look beyond WITCHES FAMILIAR. The easy winner of a maiden hurdle at Ballinrobe in May, she followed up in similar style when beating the reopposing Mino Des Mottes in a novice hurdle at the Galway Festival. A repeat of that effort should see her home in front. The latter could be thereabouts once again, but perhaps Switch From Diesel could prove the bigger danger. The latter scored back-to-back wins over hurdles at Punchestown before running well on the Flat when third at Ballinrobe at the end of June.

FAD EADRAINN handled soft ground well when beating Air Of Entitlement over 2m4f at Fairyhouse last November and showed he's well suited by a test of stamina when last seen at the Punchestown Festival. The Pat Foley-trained gelding kept on well to make the frame behind Blue Mosque in a valuable handicap and hopefully the market will speak in his favour after a summer break. Cobra Queen is an obvious threat after gaining a fifth win under Rules over 2m6f at Ballinrobe last month, while Zoffman has been mainly campaigned on the Flat this year and could feature if coping with this step up in distance.

FLEUR IN THE PARK was a classy and progressive novice during his novice chase campaign last season and this looks a good starting point for his second season over fences. He has a Grade 1 penalty to carry for his Fairyhouse victory in April and finished the campaign with a fine second over 3m1f in another top-level contest at Punchestown. Blood Destiny is best in at the weights, but is much more exposed than the selection. His Galway handicap win off a mark of 150 was a smart performance on his most recent run over fences. Senecia is far from consistent, but is very capable on his day, as he showed when making all in a Grade 3 at Killarney in May.

Fourth in a Grade 1 novice hurdle at Aintree in April, FRANKIE JOHN made a good start over fences when proving three lengths too good for Bowensonfire over 2m2f at Galway. Denis Hogan's grey, who also won his only start in point-to-points, will be suited by stepping back up in trip. Galileo-sired Vicar Street is out of a talented chasing mare. He will enjoy the nice ground and beat a subsequent winner over 2m6f at Galway. Shadow Paddy was also last seen in action at Ballybrit, where he looked in trouble before outstaying rivals in a Grade 3 over 2m2f. A 7lb penalty means he faces a stiff task, but he's a highly talented performer.

QUANTUM QUEST is a strong stayer and won twice over hurdles before landing a 3m1f beginners chase at Punchestown in June. The Idaho gelding looks a good prospect for staying handicaps in due course, and can take the next step up the ladder here. A maiden over hurdles, Fou De Toi was a creditable second over 2m7f on chase debut at Ballinrobe before winning easily at Kilbeggan. Ma Jacks Hill has the benefit of five chase runs under his belt and has shown a decent level of form over trips around 2m4f. The point-to-point winner now tackles 3m for the first time. Useful handicap hurdler Blue Mosque faces a stiff enough task on her first run over fences.

ARCADIAN EMPEROR was held in high regard over hurdles last season and made all on his latest start at Clonmel in April. The point-to-point winner is likely to do better over fences and gets the vote over Forty Coats, who has also won between the flags. The son of Diamond Boy failed to score over timber but posted some creditable efforts in defeat, including when fourth behind The New Lion in the Turners Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham last year. I Started A Joke was placed over a variety of trips earlier this year, including in a Grade 1 at Punchestown, and it will be interesting to see how he fares in the market ahead of his fencing bow.

ITS BILBO has shown an aptitude for testing ground conditions and has won twice over hurdles, including a valuable Listed handicap at the Limerick Christmas Festival last year. The selection gained fencing experience in a couple of novice events last season and can defy topweight on his return to action. Killeemore Lad has won on the Flat and over hurdles but broke his fencing duck at Downpatrick latest after filling the runner-up spot on consecutive starts. Luimneach has plenty of chasing experience to call upon and he won over marginally shorter at Kilbeggan on his penultimate start, while Astley is another to consider.
