Verdict

ROYAL SCEPTRE improved on his previous run on the poly, over the shorter distance. He looks well placed for another decent run. BIG DIPPER showed some potential on debut on the turf at this venue. Interestingly, while bred for more he drops in distance and will have his work cut out again from the widest gate. XIPHOS has run some creditable races on this surface. He is better than his recent form and now returning to a suitable distance he can give of his best. RUN GEORGE RUN had valid excuses and should improve as his best run was on the poly.

Verdict

There wasn't much to choose between KAAPSE KLOPSE and VICTOR RAIL the last time they met. The former is 1.5kg better off for a neck beating from the latter and should have every chance of turning it around. MASTER SILVANO was beaten as favourite by the above-mentioned pair. He could get the race run to suit this time. GOT THE WORD is knocking at the door and may finally get the job done but needs to jump on terms. CAPPELLINO appreciated the step up to 1200m and finally got back to winning ways. He could prove dangerous but has drawn wider out.

Verdict

QUEEN OF DENMARK must have a big chance of scoring after two decent runner-up finishes. She has run well on both poly and turf and her form lines have worked out well. BRIGHTSUNNYDAY looked dangerous dropped to 1200m last time but needs to confirm over 1400m. Well-bred GRAND TOUR didn't go badly on debut and could show a lot more. CHAKALAKA has been showing good pace but not been finishing his races off. The drop in distance could do the trick. KAZ FROM ALCATRAZ is another that hasn't been suited to further and could pop up.

Verdict

CRIMSON FLAME had much go wrong but got very close to winning on debut. He won't need to improve much to win. SCOTT'S BAR has come in for support but has not rewarded followers. He has shown pace, however, and the poly could bring out his best. Draw No 1 could be a big advantage. SUTTER'S MILL has run some fair races on the Highveld and now makes his local debut for the in-form yard of Kom Naidoo. THOMAS BURCHELL didn't turn up with a decent effort second time out but that was from a wide draw. He could make big improvement having drawn well.

Verdict

Tough race. I AM CLASSY has won on both poly and turf. He did better with cheek pieces on last time and his inside draw could prove significant. Veteran NATIONAL DREAM is down in class with leading rider Keagan de Melo aboard and if at his very best could easily beat this field. DANCING ON A CLOUD is better than his last two on the turf. He won his last race on the poly in good style, has a 4kg claiming apprentice up and should be competitive. CAPTIVE PRINCE won well enough to suggest he could go well in a race like this. Verdict

NO PRESSURE relished the Polytrack, winning well last time over this course and distance. His rating was upped five points as a result. He must have a say again having drawn well. PRINCE OF TROY looks a big threat back on the poly. He ran a nice race on the turf after a rest. DAY TWO is lightly raced but has very good form. He could much improve on previous poly efforts. RED CARDINAL was second best behind NO PRESSURE last time out. He has to make up 2 lengths on his rival but is 1.5kg better off. GARDENER'S PRIDE could prove difficult to peg back off a light weight.
