Red Stripes arrives in good form having won two of his last four races, but a further 3lb rise might find Lisa Williamson's charge out and preference is instead for recent C&D runner-up MININGGOLD. She is just 3lb above her last winning mark (which came here in April) and could prove too strong at the finish for these rivals. Lydiate Lady has found one too good the last twice and is also noted.

Winner £3,429 - 9 ran

Archie Watson has a fantastic record with his juvenile runners, particularly at this venue (4-8 since he started training in 2016), and POINT OF ORDER won't get too many better chances to shed his maiden tag. The Showcasing colt is officially rated 75 and would be hard to stop if running to that sort of mark. Daily Times was beaten at odds of 4-11 for John Gosden 38 days ago, while Quaint can claim third spot.

MR STRUTTER returned to a bit of form when outrunning 20-1 odds here two weeks ago and this step up in trip can see him build on that sixth-placed finish for Ron Thompson. The five-year-old likes it here and, having shown some solid form over the summer under this rider, just about sets the standard. Break The Silence fell short in his hat-trick bid last week, but wasn't disgraced and merits respect, while Atalanta Queen is interesting after finishing an improved third here last month.

Bramley Apple Maiden Stakes

Winner £3,429 - 9 ran

BILL THE BUTCHER took a step forward from his debut when third at Chelmsford last month and the son of Starspangledbanner has the potential for further improvement. Live In The Moment produced his best effort to date when second at Bath 10 days ago and warrants respect, along with the Mark Johnston pair Perfect Empire and Rulers Kingdom, who can both improve from their opening efforts.

LIAMBA has never finished out of the frame in six course appearances and won her most recent outing here in May. She was disappointing on her only start since at Nottingham in June but David O'Meara's filly can bounce back after a 127-day break. Awa Bomba, wearing a first-time hood, shaped on his latest start as though the extra furlong would benefit his cause, while others to note include Primeiro Boy and Barton Mills, the latter being equipped with blinkers.

QUEEN OF KALAHARI made it back-to-back C&D victories when scoring here 14 days ago and Les Eyre's four-year-old is fancied to defy a further 5lb rise and complete the hat-trick. Poeta Brasileiro has been beaten less than a length the last twice and could figure at the business end, while Blackcurrent was much improved over 5f here last month and merits consideration with Graham Lee an eye-catching jockey booking.

LOOSE CHIPPINGS wasn't far away from following up his Laytown victory when second over C&D earlier this month and could go one better off the same rating. Blyton Lass was on the scoresheet at Wolverhampton last time, showing she remains in good heart, while Postie picked up a silver medal over 1m6f here on her first handicap appearance and warrants respect dropping back in distance. Point Of Honour and Inflexiball are other names to note.
