Betty's Tiara appreciated a switch back to hurdles when returning to winning ways at Worcester and a 4lb rise is mostly negated by Callum Pritchard's claim. Billy Boi Blue scored over C&D in July and would have every chance if repeating that effort, but CRYSTAL GLANCE deserves another chance. Pulled up here last time, a subsequent wind operation has the potential to see her bounce back to form.
HARRY has been in good form since a move from France and may have more to offer his new stable over staying trips. He's proven himself versatile ground wise and is picked to defeat the quirky Betty's Tiara who bounced back to form with a last time out win. She's a former C&D winner but does have competition for the lead here. Cinnodin is another C&D winner and probably needed the run last time. He can also play a part off a light weight.

PHANTOM GOLD has stepped forward considerably in handicaps and made it third-time lucky since moving out of maiden/novice company when landing the odds at Worcester in July. The eight-year-old is making up for lost time and a 4lb rise appears to be more than fair. Royal Rhythm arrives seeking a hat-trick after landing an event for conditionals at Fontwell, which means he escapes a penalty. A drop back in trip is a positive for October Hill.
Hat trick seeker Royal Rhythm is likely to prove popular as he escapes a penalty and is well treated on his old form. However he was a very fortunate winner last time so will need to improve on his recent efforts. Instead narrow preference is for OCTOBER HILL who has proven consistent and travelled well for a long way until her stamina gave out over just shy of 3m last time. She can reverse previous C&D form with Tommy Cullen who should provide a threat as he remains well treated on his chase form. Faded Fantasy has also dropped to an attractive mark and bounce back to form following a wind op last time so can also play a part.

Axel Bleue beat Gwash at Worcester at the beginning of July and again showed excellent resolution when successful over the same track and trip most recently. In between those two triumphs, though, he was touched off by MT FUGI PARK there and the O'Neills' eight-year-old can confirm that superiority, however marginal, on slightly better terms. Grand Clermont seems to like this venue, while Bagheera Ginge was struggling to keep up when coming down at Stratford and will happier back up in distance.
AXEL BLEUE has been progressing over fences this summer and should be able to defy a 4lb rise on his second start after a wind op. The thorough stayer can defeat top weight Grand Clermont who has proven consistent for his new yard and his versatile ground wise. A Definite Getaway has had his issues but returns from a break off a dangerous mark and will be suited by conditions so can also play a part.

LATIN was a good moneyspinner on the all-weather for James Owen at the start of the year, but a bad error scuppered his chances of capitalising on a comparatively lenient NH mark on his handicap bow in this sphere. He has joined the Olly Murphy team since that Worcester outing and can make amends. Lady Dapple Rose must not be written off following an early Fontwell tumble on her debut for Ben Pauling. Cawthorne Banker completed a C&D double in July but the handicapper had taken revenge by the time he got to Worcester last time, while Mi Sueno might need a fraction further.
LATIN showed a useful level of form on the Flat where he was a multiple winner and shaped with promise in his novice runs over hurdles. He is best forgiven his handicap debut run where he was let down by his jumping at a key stage and he should have more to offer his new stable. He can defeat the similarly unexposed dual purpose performer Promethean who was booked for midfield when coming down last time. He is unexposed over hurdles and can fill the places with Time Interval who has been out of form for some time. However that rival has plummeted in the weights and could bounce back for his new top stable.

French import Martin's Denuo showed improvement from his UK debut to chase home an odds-on favourite at Fontwell and is likely to give another bold sight. Hudson had Mix Of Clover a few positions behind him when making the frame at Worcester and has scope for improvement over fences, although not more than MR RAFIKI. The O'Neills' five-year-old made gradual progress over timber, but is bred to come into his own now chasing and starts handicap life on a nice mark.
MR RAFIKI is picked to make a winning start over fences. He looks well treated on his final qualifying run over hurdles where he was stepped up to just shy of 3m. The stiff track will suit down in trip and he can defeat stablemate Gaelic Rambler who went too fast and failed to stay 3m last time. He gets the blinkers for the first time and will be dangerous if allowed to dictate. Martin's Denuo boasted a good strike rate in France and has been running into form for his new yard. He was outstayed up the hill over 2m5f last time and looks a big player down in trip.
