A very interesting handicap for three-year-olds. NONNABELLA (3) finished close up in a strong maiden recently and looks fairly treated for her first attempt in this category. BACHEROVKA (12), now in Christophe Escuder's yard and partnered by Maxime Guyon, should be competitive. STAN LE GRAND (8) ran well at ParisLongchamp over a slightly longer trip, while BLACK WALL SHADOW (9) appears to have been specifically aimed at this meeting.

A TRUE VENUSIAN (6) and BYZANTINE PALACE (3) produced a striking performance at Compiègne, clearly outclassing their rivals, and look capable of stepping up in grade with success. Another strong contender from the Christopher Head stable, ALGEBRE (8), is a colt of considerable talent. SKYRIDGE (5), who appears to have a powerful engine, is also worth close attention.

In this category, SHE'S BOX OFFICE (7) looks like a solid contender, especially over this new distance. KARLOVSKY (3), disappointing twice despite strong market support, deserves another chance at this easier level. With Pierre-Charles Boudot in the saddle, FLYING FLASH (6) is capable of improvement. SAID EL FNA (5) completes the shortlist.

PAUL DE TARSE (1) has already proven his competitiveness at this level and should not be long in getting his head in front. Behind him, the race looks wide open. Nicolas Perret's decision to engage Cristian Demuro aboard CHARLES KEN (2) catches the eye. IZAWAY (11) finished strongly last time at Aix-les-Bains and is worth close attention on her return to handicaps. LA BELLE OTERO (13), well treated at the bottom of the weights, is an appealing outsider.

NOVA LUXOR (4) has been gelded after two promising runs in the spring, the latest when third at Saint-Cloud in a competitive maiden. He is given the nod over the well-bred LACE FLOWER (14), who is out of a classy mare that won a Listed and a Group 2 race and was placed in a Group 1. She will be well tuned, as will ABERDEEN (15), who has some good aspects to her profile and can have a say in the finish. KANEWKO (6) is another to consider after showing promise on debut last year.

ZAYDANN (2) has been in top form having won his last four starts, the most recent in a Listed race at Bordeaux Le Bouscat in late May. His main threat could be CASAPUEBLO (3) who was a decent third in a Group 3 race last time out in June at Parislongchamp. WOODCHUCK (1) arrives after a good win in Milan (ITA) in a Group 3 race and can be expected to give another good account of himself.

EL MEASTRO (3) won this race last year with today's rider on and he is the tentative selection to get back to winning ways. His main threat could be KAKHOVKA (7), who shaped well at Aix Les Bains when she was third earlier this month in a Class 4 handicap on her latest start. ZIPPERE (8) could be one for the each-way backers to take seriously after a creditable effort at Saint-Cloud 17 days ago. EL PROFESSOR CHOP (9) was second in the same race and can not be ruled out.

8

21:37 Vichy (France) (4YO to 5YO)

LASKATALL (7) has been in excellent form, finishing third on all three starts this year, including a strong effort in a Group 3 AQ contest in April. This looks a good opportunity for her to break her maiden. MELEAGRINE (13) has been admirably consistent and is expected to provide the main threat. MABRISKA (9) produced her best performance of the year when runner-up at Le Lion-d'Angers in mid-May and is capable of another bold showing. MOLLY DE GASCOGNE (4) impressed when scoring at Nantes on 1 July and can be involved.
