Dutch Decoy would be a runner on the last race on Saturday. It is over nine furlongs and it used to be for apprentices which I think is a bit of a shame as it is always nice for the apprentices to get a bit of a chance to win at the meeting. He would be one of our main horses in the race and he will be ridden by our apprentice Olly Stammer who has won on him in his last two starts. He won again at Newmarket on Friday night, and he looks to b ein good form with himself.

We have won the Chesterfield Cup a few times before and it is a race which has been a long-term target for Forest Falcon. I think he has everything in his favour - a sharp mile and a quarter on fast ground - not a great draw (16) but I expect him to run well. I wouldn’t rule out him also appearing in the last race on Saturday.

Living Legend will definitely run in the Glorious Stakes on Friday. He put in a couple of below par efforts at Epsom and Ascot, but we thought there were obvious excuses - particularly at Epsom where he got left in the stalls. He was right back to his best at Newmarket last time trying to give weight to Yibir. He will have a 5lb penalty here making life difficult for him but he’s a hard horse to place now with his Group 2 penalty, but the clue is in his name. A mile and a half on fast ground is exactly what he wants.

She will probably join Living Legend in the Glorious Stakes and she ran a good race on her return from absence at Newmarket a fortnight ago. She could possibly go back to a listed Fillies race at Newmarket on Saturday, and she will run in the Glorious or at Newmarket.

He will run in the mile and six on Saturday, the Summer Stakes along with Golden Flame. Both of them ran down the field in the Plate but they have had a freshen up with this race in mind. Max has won twice at Goodwood and likes the track, trip and fast ground so I wouldn’t be surprised if he bounced back to form as few disappointing efforts. The handicapper has started to give him a chance again.

He was a bit disappointing on his latest run at York, but we did fully expect him to need the run after a mid-season break. He is a horse that carries a lot of condition, and he should come forward from that and has the blinkers back on. His best three runs have been in those and, assuming Trueshan won’t run we will be hoping he can run into a bit of money.

He has been running all year and won a couple of times and he runs in the World Pool Handicap over seven furlongs on Wednesday. He seems to enjoy downhill tracks having won at Epsom and Brighton and he is a tough hardy horse that will give his running.

Westend Charmer also run in the Chesterfield Cup and it’s his first run in a handicap for over two years. He has spent his time in Listed and Group company and he is coming down in Class. He has plenty of good form over a mile and a quarter at Goodwood and has been second in a couple of listed races over course and distance, so he is plenty in his favour and I expect him to acquit himself well.

He is 24th on the ballot and there are three or four of them that ran at Ascot on Saturday so with a bit of luck he will sneak in and I think he will run well. A turning mile on fast ground is right up his street. He finished third in the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood last year, so we know he likes the track. He was impressive when he won at Hamilton and the second came out and won at York on Friday night.

Knightswood would be one of our representatives in the Oliver Brown Handicap on Friday. He has come a long way in a short space of time and won two novices in June and was thrown in the deep end at Royal Ascot and then ran in a very tough handicap at Newmarket. He is shaping now as though he wants a little bit further.

We have three entries in the mile and a quarter fillies handicap on Wednesday and I would say Value Theory is the most likely runner. She was a good two-year-old and finished third in the Sweet Solera and got injured in the Prestige. She shaped ok at Nottingham about two weeks ago and looked like she a mile and a quarter. It doesn’t look as strong a race as usual, and she would have an each way chance.

He was the one horse earmarked for the mile and two handicap on Thursday. I blame myself but it was poor placing by myself that he never won as a two-year-old. He was injured in the spring and has been off nearly nine months before his run at Carlisle a couple of weeks ago, but he won well. He will be in against some unexposed rivals, but I expect him to run well.

I would say that Beautiful Eye would be our representative in the Fillies’ Conditions Stakes on Wednesday. She won twice early doors and then finished fourth in the Marygate at York. She was a bit disappointing in the Albany but wasn’t quite right at that point. She ran a bit flat and she work earlier this week and is in really good form with herself. There are few in there she has to find with on the figures and she is also in the Nursery on the Friday over six. I will have to work out which she will go for, but I think she is better than she has shown at Ascot.

Centre Court will join True Statesman in the seven-furlong nursery and won first time out at Newmarket and then had a horrible trip round at Chelmsford. She nearly got carried out to Stansted on the bend and then finished well! We thought the handicap mark was quite favourable so she has been kept for Goodwood but she is a big filly and might find it on the sharp side, but I would be a bit disappointed if she is not better than 77.

Our two representatives in the Vintage Stakes both have similar profiles and have won both their starts. He did well to win first time out after having been slowly away and running free at Carlisle and everything happened a bit quickly, but his ability shone through. He was very impressive at Beverley where he won by five lengths. I would struggle to split them really - Dornoch Castle is more forward whereas Dear My Friend is a big raw horse, and we haven’t really scratched the surface yet. He’s really laid back and you wouldn’t know how much we would have in the tank. They are two horses that are well worth their place in the line-up.

He runs in the Vintage Stakes along with Dear My Friend and he was impressive at Haydock and also at Ayr. His form has been franked a few times - he beat Coco Jack at Haydock and that horse is rated 90 and the sixth at Ayr (Feel The Need) went back and won at Ayr last week.

We have possibly three runners in the Maiden Fillies on Thursday. Miss Dynamic will definitely run and she is a Cracksman filly and we only have three Cracksman fillies and one is Dance In The Grass who won the Star Stakes at Sandown and the other one has won as well. We think she is a nice filly and on the dam’s side of her pedigree we think she will want further than seven furlongs fairly soon, but she has been saved for this meeting. Berwick Law is the one most likely to join her. She had a setback in the spring and has only started getting going and I’m sure she will improve on whatever she does.

True Statesman was very impressive at Chester three weeks ago and the handicapper hasn’t missed him for it and put him up 8lb to 91. Life will be tougher for him off his new mark but he’s an improving horse and Ryan Moore will ride him in the seven-furlong nursery on Thursday.
