Christophe Ferland’s season is going well so far, in fact he currently has as many winners as he had last year and that despite no racing for two months.
Based in Deauville for the month of August, he has been very satisfied with his runners, especially his two-year-olds, which he will now be preparing for the return to Paris in September.
“Yes, I have had as many winners at this time of the year as last year, even though we missed two months of racing because of the pandemic,” he says.
“I shouldn’t be saying it, but I really appreciated having a break from racing, as it allowed me to relax a bit. The seasons now are full on all the time and mentally it was nice to have a bit of a break.”
Here, the La Teste de Buch trainer tells Liz Price of attheraces.com about the older horses that are still going to target some of the big prizes in Deauville and his exciting two-year-old generation that will be taking a step up in class at the beginning of September.
