Few training partnerships have made an immediate impact like Noel George and Amanda Zetterholm who launched their enterprise on the 1st of January 2023. It took the Anglo-Swedish team, which is based in Avilly Saint Leonard just outside Chantilly, not even a full season before Il Est Francais gave them their first Grade 1 victory in France and then, just before the end of the year, another one in the UK.
“We are very lucky,” says Noel George. “He put our names on the map and showed that we are capable of performing on the top stage. It’s a great advert and we are lucky to have one like Il Est Francais.”
While Il Est Francais is busy preparing himself for the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris, the yard is filled with promising three and four-year-olds. Here, the duo talks to Liz Price for attheraces.com through a number of horses likely to give them further victories in France but also in the UK.
