GEORGE BOUGHEY has been making all the right noises in his first full season with a licence and with 25 winners from only 93 runners he has an unbelievable strike rate of 27%.
Boughey acknowledges that strike rate won’t be able to be maintained but his prowess hasn’t gone unnoticed and there already ten yearlings in his Hamilton Road stable which were purchased at the recent sales.
The exploits of Mirage Mac could well encourage further support as the daughter of Bobby’s Kitten has won her three starts to date and looked more than a step or two ahead of the handicapper when hacking up in a nursery at Southwell on Tuesday and he is delving over thoughts of a Winter campaign in Dubai.
There are plenty in Saffron House Stable that will also be keeping things ticking over during the winter months and Boughey is clearly making giant strides in his chosen career.
George said: “I can’t believe it myself – we had four horses rated between 50 and 65 when I started last July and we’ve just been able to buy the right horse. I spend most of life trying to put them in the right races and it been a great season for us.
George kindly spoke to Tony Elves for attheraces.com about those stabled in Saffron House.
