Harry Derham is one of the bright young stars in the training ranks, and although Halloween may be over for another year, he has made a scary start to November, with four of his five runners successful over the weekend.
The lessons learnt from his former boss Paul Nicholls have certainly been taken on board, and for obvious reasons his 17 winners from 50 runners are there for all to see.
Derham explained: “I would love to have been much busier than I have been, but I don’t want to run these lovely winter horses on quick ground. We will just keep our powder dry, and it will have to rain soon.”
The Upper Lambourn trainer ended last season with 57 winners and £647,865 in prize-money, but with a wealth of equine talent on board for this term, those totals could well be dwarfed during the 2025-26 campaign.
Derham kindly spoke to Tony Elves of attheraces.com about his hopes for what should prove to be another fruitful campaign.
