He was disappointing at Chepstow a few weeks ago and we will now wait for some softer ground. I think he is fairly handicapped and we will probably go up in trip at some stage.

He jumped badly to win at Carlisle first time out but was much better when following up at Wetherby on Saturday. He is a nice horse who likes top of the ground, and we will see what the handicapper will do with him, but he could be one for the Challenger Series.

Multiple winner on the Flat in Jersey and made a winning debut over hurdles for the stable in a 2m 1f maiden hurdle at Newcastle on Thursday when beating Marhaba The Champ by 14 lengths.

He won well at Newcastle last week and likes top of the ground. He could go to Wincanton on Saturday. It was a bad old race at Newcastle, but he jumped well and couldn’t have done it any better. He will keep going whilst the ground is quick.

He won at Uttoxeter two weeks ago and I was delighted with him - he is a wonderful old horse. He will run at the Coral Gold Cup meeting at Newbury next and could end up in the Lanzarote Hurdle.

I was delighted with him at Worcester the other day, and the ground probably just beat him. He could go to Haydock on November 22nd. He wants some softer ground, but he jumped brilliantly, and hopefully he will keep up a decent level of form this season.

I like him. I was disappointed with him at Aintree, but the ground went too dry. He is about ready to start and could go to Kempton on November 10th, but he will need ground on the softer side before he starts. He is a nice horse, and he could be a horse to run in some nicer handicaps in the spring.

She is a bit of an unknown quantity. She won twice last year quite impressively, but it is hard to know where her ceiling is. She is a good jumper, and she starts as a novice as she doesn’t get a penalty for those junior races. The owners want to try and get some black type with her, so that will be the big project.

He goes to Cheltenham on November 15th for the Triumph Hurdle Trial. I have been pretty pleased with him, but it is difficult to know just how good he is. He hasn’t beaten much in three races, but he couldn’t have done it any better. Cheltenham will give us a better idea as to whether he is a Graded juvenile for the season or more of a Fred Winter prospect.

He was really disappointing first time out this season but was much more like it at Stratford last week. We will probably give him another run in a good maiden hurdle to give him more experience. He is basically a chaser, but he will win over hurdles beforehand.

He will be out after Christmas, and I suspect he will probably go chasing. He did very well over hurdles last year, but he sustained an injury at Aintree when finishing second.

Trainer says

He is quirky, but on a going day he is a good horse - and he showed that at Ascot on Saturday. I trained him horrendously until March. I tried to train him like a normal horse, and one day it occurred to me that he’s very talented but a bit mad, and I just needed to understand that. It took me a year to get to know him. He’s his own man, but I knew I had him right for Saturday. He will hopefully win another race or two during the course of the season.

He had an off day at Ascot on Friday, but he has been fantastic for us and will run in all those big handicaps on good ground. I have it in the back of my mind as to whether he is as good after he’s had a run, as he won so well on his reappearance at Chepstow, but he is nine-years-old so we’ll roll the dice and have a go.
