JEDD O’KEEFFE has had a season that will long live in his memory as his 29 winners so far from 152 runners provides him with the healthy strike rate of 19% and he has already sailed past his personal best of 20 winner in 2017.
The prize money tally has obviously gone hand in hand with the rise in winners and the £371,493 accrued this term means the High Beck Lodge trainer has battered his previous best of £233,051 and there is still the major part of Autumn to come.
Recent recruit Marnie James marked himself down as one that would soon be winning for O’Keeffe when finishing second to Dakota Gold on his stable debut at York last month and the likes of Air Raid, Breanski, Jazeel and Rare Groove could also be adding to the total before the season’s end.
Theatro, a half sister to Lord Yeats, looks of particular interest in the three-year-old division and he also has a sprinkling of two-year-olds worthy of mention as well as the forthcoming chasing career of the mighty Sam Spinner to look forward too.
Jedd said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the ways the season has gone and it’s by a long way our best in terms of numbers and prize money. We are having a good lucky year and long may it last.”
Jedd kindly spoke to Tony Elves of ATR about his highly successful team.
