JEREMY SCOTT is rueing the weather right now as storm clouds sweep in again from the Atlantic but Spring will eventually be sprung with the likely advent of some drying ground which he hopes will help swell his 15 winners so far this season.
The 2018-19 season brought the Brompton Regis trainer 39 winners and £322,273 in prize money and he has a potential Cheltenham prospect in his hands in the shape of Champagne Court who could well be winging his way to the Close Brothers Handicap Chase on March 10.
Scott said: “We are behind a little on winners but our horses are better on better ground. Last season was outstanding for us and we’ve ended up with one or two that are not brilliantly handicapped but if they drop a little bit and get some decent ground then they could spring back to life.”
The Somerset trainer kindly spoke to Tony Elves of ATR about those he hopes can take him forward in the coming months.
