Kim Bailey and Mat Nicholls have been on a fine run of form lately, which has seen their tally for their second season with a joint licence reach 20 winners from just 109 runners.
Coolanna was the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow when sluicing up at Uttoxeter last Friday, but the omens were less than generous on a few occasions this past week when the tally could well have been considerably better.
Bailey explained: “It was a bad week, having had four fallers and two horses that didn’t complete, and we only have five do that in the whole of last year, which is quite bizarre really. However, the horses have been in very good form, so let’s hope we can get back on a more familiar treading over the Christmas period.”
Bailey kindly spoke to Tony Elves of attheraces.com about their team at Thorndale Farm, Andoversford.
