He has taken a long time to come together having had two wind operations, and things have been quite difficult for him. Having said that, he won nicely the other day, although he doesn’t like heavy ground, which is a real problem at the moment. Hopefully he can win again.

She is an out-and-out chaser in the making, but she couldn’t have been more impressive at Uttoxeter last Friday on her hurdling debut. She is a big, strong mare, and she has been waiting for this proper soft ground - it was a good performance. She’s a nice mare to have, and we will have to make further plans for her after this.

He ran very well at Ludlow on Wednesday and is very consistent. He is probably in the hands of the handicapper, however, and it is difficult to find races for him really. He wants a flat track and three miles-plus, but aside from that I am very happy with him.

He heads back to Cheltenham on New Year’s Eve. He loves Cheltenham and we did plan to go for the veterans’ final with him, but I think the ground will be too soft for him. He likes decent ground or good to soft, and he won’t get that at Sandown.

He ran really well when winning at Lingfield, and he ran an improved race again at Wincanton last week. Unfortunately he came back with a nasty cut on his leg, so he will have a break and come back in the spring. He is a very nice horse for the future.

He was unlucky at Ludlow on Wednesday, when he fell when he probably would have won. He is an out-and-out chaser, so whatever he does this season is a bonus.

He ran a reasonable race at Hereford on Saturday, but my big concern was the heavy ground and that’s how it turned out. He is a progressive horse, and hopefully he will keep going forward on better ground.

He was probably unlucky not to win at Doncaster last time, but having said that the form is still rock solid. He will have one run in mid-January, with the aim being to step up in class in early February.

We really shouldn’t have run him at Exeter as the ground wasn’t right - it was too soft for him. He has had a bit of a break since, and he will come back in the spring.

He runs on Monday at Huntingdon (finished 4th behind Impatient). He ran really well first time out at Warwick over fences, and we will see how he goes on Monday and then make a plan after that.

He was very unlucky to fall at the last at Doncaster last time and would probably have gone very close. My one hate in life is that the handicapper has put him up 3lb for not completing, and that’s a double-whammy for his owners.

Trainer says

He ran at Ascot on Saturday but didn’t really enjoy it in the closing stages and was eventually pulled up. He is 13 years old and is still the worst-behaved horse in the yard.

A winner of both her starts this season, scoring by three lengths over Ghina Di Tacco in a mares’ novices’ hurdle at Worcester (2m) in October before following up with a six-and-a-half-length victory over Looking As You Are in a 2m 2½f mares’ handicap hurdle at Market Rasen in November off a mark of 109.

Trainer says

Her form is good, and again she will run over the Christmas period. The form has been franked, with the mare who finished second to her at Market Rasen having won since. She’s a chaser not a hurdler, and so has slightly surprised us with what she has done so far.

He won easily first time up in a handicap hurdle, which was quite a surprise, but we are not going to complain about that. He might go to Musselburgh on New Year’s Day.
