ONE FOR ARTHUR became the first horse trained in Scotland to win the Grand National for the first time since Rubstic in 1979 when landing the Aintree showpiece in April 2017 and after a season off with problems to his flexor tendon the horse that really put Lucinda Russell on the map could be primed for action again this weekend.
The Many Cloud Chase at Aintree is on the agenda and if that target is bypassed then there will be other horizons in the next few weeks with Aintree in April the obvious long term aim.
Lucinda has notched up 18 winners so far and has consistently had totals in the high 40’s in the past five seasons. The latest winner from Alary House Stables was Venguer De Guye at Bangor on Saturday and one of her current stable star Big River was still travelling ominously well when falling in the Listed Rehearsal Handicap Chase at Newcastle on Saturday and is thankfully none the worse for that tumble.
Lucinda kindly spoke to Tony Elves of attheraces.com about some of the leading prospects in her care that she hopes can prosper in the coming months.
