He is in the five-furlong sprint and is also in the Stewards' Cup on Saturday. I think he would run and he won at Goodwood earlier in the year so obviously has winning form over that course and distance. He has been a bit disappointing recently but like a lot of sprinters he needs everything to drop right in terms of pace and where he travels but the ability is there.

Marie's Diamond would be our definite runner in the Golden Mile. He won at Ayr last Monday and he will have a penalty and won't be well in at the weights, but it was a good prize at Ayr. The draw is always a massive factor in that race, and you need to be drawn low but he's a tough genuine horse and if he gets a good draw and fast ground he should be there or thereabouts.

Maydanny and Sky Defender were first and second in the mile and a quarter handicap last year and will both go again. Maydanny was disappointing in the Royal Hunt Cup at Ascot, but he bounced back to form when running very well at Sandown last time. This mile and a quarter seems ideal for him and he won off 90 last year and it will be a bit tough of a 102 this year but he still should have a very good chance.

She runs in the six-furlong fillies race on the opening day, a new race, which is tailormade for her. She won over six furlongs at Chester last time and the handicapper has put her up 3lb and she carries topweight for a reason. She goes there in good form.

Nayef Road isn't a bad rear gunner to have in the Goodwood Cup. He didn't run badly when sixth in the Gold Cup and I think two and a half just stretches him a bit. He ran his best race in the Goodwood Cup last year when beaten only a length by Stradivarius and on his best form he could run into a place.

It was a big call to supplement him for the Goodwood Cup but I think if you had asked us at the start of the year we were thinking of him as a Cup horse and were very confident about his stamina. After winning over a mile and six at Nottingham we came back to a mile and a half in the Jockey Club Stakes and he won, and he has since won the Princess Of Wales's. He has shown himself to be a very good mile and a half horse and you could argue at York in the Yorkshire Cup he travelled into the race like the best horse and got outstayed by Spanish Mission. There are doubts about stamina but at the same time this horse was second in a St Leger as a three-year-old and we have always thought he would stay well. The ground is crucial, and we don't want too much rain. We would have loved to have Subjectivist here but sadly we don’t, and the division is there for the taking. We still have the hugest respect for Stradivarius but he is looking a little more vulnerable now than in recent years and we have to give it a shot. He had an easy week after Newmarket and we have only had to keep him ticking over and we just hope the ground is right for him.

Sky Defender finished runner-up in the Chesterfield last year and the handicapper hasn't really given him any leeway. He is down below 100 for the first time in a year so maybe finally have been given a chance.

It looked like he may have got outstayed at Sandown so we will drop him back to a mile and a half and that will do him no harm.

Dubai Fountain is entered in the Gordon Stakes but she is a bit more likely to run in the Lillie Langtry Stakes on Saturday. She was disappointing at Haydock - I think Epsom, Ascot and Haydock were three quick runs at a high level and she just came back a bit sore from Haydock. She has enjoyed a little break and has come back freshened up.

He was very impressive on his debut at Doncaster, and we were a little bit disappointed with his run in the Superlative but we were pretty much confident he is up to Stakes level. He has quite a bit to find and the Coventry and July Stakes winner are in opposition, but we will let him take his chance.
