Patrice Quinton holds the unusual record of having lifted the last nine editions of the Grand Steeple-Chase des Flandres, Belgium’s version of the Grand National.
The French trainer, who is based not far from St Malo and who for years trained his horses in the dunes of Normandy before the construction of the Dragey-Ronthon training centre, has always enjoyed travelling with his horses and is an avid Cheltenham Festival fan.
In France, he features consistently in the top ten of trainers and makes it a habit to target the different meetings, in particular the winter meeting at Pau, where his horses are always competitive, especially in the Cross Country Chases.
Here, he kindly tells Liz Price of attheraces.com about some of his hopes for this winter.
