Philip Hobbs and Johnson White had a very productive third season with a joint-licence in 2024-25, when 53 winners yielded £652,603 in prize-money, while they also unveiled a potentially top-class hurdling prospect in Sober Glory.
The Mount Nelson gelding won his three bumpers in exhilarating style, with his first season culminating in a length-and-three-quarter success over Realco in a Listed bumper at Newbury in February, and so his debut over hurdles is eagerly awaited.
There are other fish to fry before then, however, and the team are looking forward to Sunday when Aintree-specialist Imperial Saint will line up for the Old Roan Chase at a course where he managed to win three times over fences last season.
Hobbs and White have a busy week ahead with runners at Cheltenham too, and the former kindly spoke to Tony Elves of attheraces.com about their team at Sandhills Racing Stables near Minehead.
