Won the Group 2 Prix Vicomtesse Vigier in May and then targeted the Ascot Gold Cup where the distance proved too much for him.

Trainer says

He travelled well in the Ascot Gold Cup, but he showed that the 4000 metres were beyond him. He came back sound and happy and so we are trying to prepare him for the Prix Royal Oak, which will be his main target this year. His next run will be in the Prix Kergolay on the 28th of August in Deauville. He is happy and we are looking forward to seeing him at the track again. We always looked for soft ground, but he has done his best work on faster ground.

Form profile

A good traveller, he has consistently run in Group 2 and 3 races in France but also at the Curragh and Meydan. He won his last race, when he was dropped back in class, at Lion-D’Angers.

Trainer says

We were happy that he came back to win a race. He has not shown much for the last three starts. We haven’t really decided what we want to do with him, but he is well. We have to be clever and see where we go next time with him. He has quality and showed last time that he is willing to win again.

We are waiting for the autumn with her as she wants soft ground. She ran twice well in ground which was not ideal. As soon as we get the softer or heavy ground, she will be there.

Trainer says

I think he will go for the big handicap for stayers at the end of the month. Since he was gelded at the end of last year, he is really a different horse. He loves the long distances. That would be a suitable race for him. If he shows that he can win a big handicap, I might step him up in class at the end of the year.

Formerly trained by Alain de Royer Dupré, he was a Group 2 winner over 12f and placed in the Group 1 Hong Kong Vase. He then joined Chris Waller in Australia in 2018, but failed to win a race. He came back to France to join Pia Brandt only this spring.

Trainer says

He came back at the end of April. He had his first run for me last week. He showed that he is interested to run and perform. He is now entered in the Group 1 Grosser Preis von Baden or he could go for the Grand Prix de Deauville at the end of the month. We might put a pair of blinkers on him. He used to run with them in Australia.

She was fourth in a Listed on her last start. She has had problems throughout her career. But she always comes back and then wins, so we are trying to get some black type before the end of the year.

Trainer says

She won her handicap and we thought we try her in Listed company. She hasn’t shown that she is capable of running in them, so I think I will put her in another handicap. There is a filly’s handicap in a couple of weeks’ time at Deauville, I might target that.

Trainer says

He didn’t run too well in his last race. It was very firm ground and I’m not sure if he is going to come back to Deauville. But I am sure that he will win a handicap maybe in September when he gets better ground.

A nine-time winner in Budapest, he was last seen at the beginning of this month when he was the runner-up to top class sprinter City Light in a conditions race at Deauville on the Fibre track.

Trainer says

We put him in this race to give him a confidence booster. It was a step down in class after his run in the Group 3 Prix du Palais-Royal. I think he was a little bit surprised that time by the other horses. He had won nine races from the front and a horse like that might be bothered when you get attacked like he was last time. But he is a horse that wants to win races in the future.

Following a few starts in handicaps, he was the runner-up in a claiming race at Deauville in July.

Trainer says

He goes back to running in a handicap next week. He ran well in a claimer against horses with a much higher rating than him. I think he is a girl (rider) horse. I have put blinkers on and a girl and he showed that he might be able to win a handicap now. He is running in the Prix de Saint-Germain des Fosses at Vichy on the 5th of August.

She is running next week on the all-weather in Deauville, in the Prix d’Heuland. She shows her best form on the all-weather. She is actually more of a left-handed horse, but she is running right-handed.

Well bred filly who was the runner-up on the Fibre track at Deauville on her start but who has since struggled.

Trainer says

We are still trying to get her to settle. She might run on the 14th in Moulins. It’s maiden or a maiden handicap for fillies, which is quite interesting, so she might run in that. I think she will like the longer trip, longer than a mile at least.

Was already aimed at Group 3 level at two. A winner at Lion d’Angers at the beginning of the season, has since struggled a bit.

He is a seven-furlong horse. He will win. When you see him in a handicap over 7 furlongs that will be the time to look out for him.

We try to win a maiden and she is close every time, but I think she is limited.

Very well-bred filly owned by Al Shaqab Racing, who won her maiden on her second start over 12f.

She is a nice filly but we are waiting for soft ground for her. She hasn’t run since April when she won her maiden very nicely. She has a great pedigree and we are going to get some black type, but we are saving her for softer ground.

He is a big colt who probably needs to be gelded, but we are still waiting with that. He is a long-distance horse and he will be a decent horse, but he has been very childish up until now. He needs to run to understand what is needed, but he is going forwards.

We are close to winning a race. He was gelded and he showed last time out in Compiegne that there was much improvement. He will run in a handicap and I think he will be there.

He is running in a Listed on Sunday. We are going to try him over the longer trip. This Listed is over a mile and six furlongs. I love stayers and we have a good program for stayers in France.

Won on her debut in March at Chantilly on the fibre track. Was placed in a Class 2 race at Deauville in July over the extended 12f.

Trainer says

She is a tough filly. She is not the soundest filly so we give her plenty of time between her runs. She will run in the Deauville. Hopefully I can find her a handicap, or maybe a Class 2 or Class 1 race over 1 ½ m or further. In the morning she shows a little bit more speed but she is not a miler, she is more a 12f horse.

Trainer says

Apparently, the English love this name. I might have to bring him to England during the autumn. That would be great. He ran well last time and he is even better in heavy ground. I have entered him in the Group 3 Prix Daphnis on 17th of August at Deauville. And then, as I said, he might come to England.

He won nicely last time. It was just a claimer, but he did it in a very nice way. So, he is now going to run in a handicap, I think the Grand Handicap on the 11th of August. We put the blinkers on him, which was the right thing to do.

Trainer says

He is running on Sunday in a Listed over 6f. He ran a decent race and did what he could in the Jean Prat, but unfortunately he is not a Group 1 horse. He is quite small, so that was a bit too tough, but a Group 3 is within his reach, no problem.

Very well-bred filly out of Pride. She is still looking to win her maiden, but looks very promising.

Trainer says

She is a lovely filly. She is going to be good. She will need some more experience first though. She had a very bad run last time. But she is going to run next week in the Prix Leandra over a mile. I’m dropping her back in trip. She is just gorgeous and she comes from a family that improves with age. I think her ideal trip will be a mile and a quarter and I am just trying to get her to finish the races like her mother did, so that is why we are dropping her back this time.”

She won the 1000 UAE Guineas at Meydan in March, but was well beaten in the 1m1½f UAE Oaks. She then ran in the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches where she was again well beaten.

Trainer says

She is going to run in the Group 3 Prix de Lieurey on the 15th of August. She pulled a muscle in the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches. But she has recovered from that and hopefully we will see the real Silva in August. She would like good to soft ground.

She was a winner of a Listed at Saint-Cloud and then was stepped up to run in the Group 3 Prix de la Grotte where she finished sixth behind the future Poule d’Essai des Pouliches winner Castle Lady. She hasn’t been seen since.

Trainer says

She is entered in the Group 3 Prix de Lieurey at Deauville on 15th of August. She didn’t have a winter break, so we gave her a break over the spring and she is coming back very well. So this will be her next target. She is a fast filly.
