He suffered a slight setback and we had to give him three months off. He has just started to be ridden and it will be another three months before he runs. If all is good with him, he will go back on the all-weather. He wants a mile two to a mile four.

He always takes a couple of runs to get fit and ran right through until the very end of November last year. He is ridden by the girls at home and does his own little thing cantering but he ran another solid race at Newmarket on Saturday when third in the seven-furlong handicap. If he gets in the International at Ascot on Saturday, he will run there.

He goes for the King George on Saturday. Obviously everybody heard what I said before he went to Royal Ascot for the Hardwicke, that he needed the run. He has come on for his race and he looks hard and strong. I couldn’t be happier with the place I have him at this present time. The horse that finished second to him in the King George last year went onto finish third in the Arc and with Mishriff, Westover and Emily Upjohn in the race we had everyone talking up their horses before the race as the best we have ever seen. They tell me that we are going to get ten inches of rain over the weekend, but if it’s heavy ground it doesn’t matter and if it is good to firm it doesn’t matter. He is in really good shape.

Salt Treaty ran ok on his first run at Wolverhampton but has been blighted by small setbacks. He had a real good break after the last setback, and he is coming back now and just started to canter back. He looks strong and is moving nicely and will just come along steadily. I should think he will be back in six weeks, and I have always liked him which is why I have persevered with him. I think he is capable of winning races and a mile to a mile and a quarter should suit him.

He is a character and I love him, but he is quirky. He can jump out and go slowly then he quickens up. He wins his races, but he was a bit disappointing last time at Windsor, but I scoped him and he scoped dirty. We gave him a course of antibiotics and he is ready to run. He has entries at Sandown this week and if one of the races looks fine, he could well go there. He will win more races as he has plenty of ability and a mile to a mile and quarter is his trip.

Trainer says

After his last race we took him to Ben Brown’s and found he had growths under his epiglottis which we lasered off. We always thought this horse was a lot better than we have seen as we always thought he was really smart. We can’t do anything with him until that epiglottis is completely healed so he goes back to Ben’s a week on Monday for a check-up. Once that is completely healed, we will start training him again and if that has made the difference then we think he was better as a two-year-old than Pyledriver was showing. As a two-year-old this horse was the real deal.

He is one of Chris’s and he went to the Sales and bought this horse and fair play to him the horse has done him proud. He has won two races already this season and has been placed umpteen times. He is not quite as good when he is on very soft ground - it just blunts his turn of foot - and it’s when we get back to summer ground, I am sure he is going to win again. He is a nice strong horse.

He was second for us down at Newbury in a really good race and then we finished eighth there next time where we got in a pocket and couldn’t get out. He then went back to Salisbury and I thought he had the race won and one of Eve Johnson Houghton’s came flying past us. He goes to the International and he does like to see a bit of daylight, but I am going to persevere and have a go.

She had her second run at Newbury on Saturday, and she is still a bit on the weak side but she moves well and that ground wouldn’t have been ideal for her. She will win races, but we still have to figure out her trip and she is from a good farm.

Honeymooner is a lovely filly and she won at Windsor where she beat a very nice filly of Richard Hughes’s. We ran again at Brighton where she missed the break and that was her race over. She will be entered up this week and we will see how we go.

She ran a cracker a Newbury on Saturday and was bred by Mrs and Mrs Hobby on the Stud where Chris’s Dad works. She won lovely first time out at Nottingham and then ran in a listed race at Sandown. I don’t believe that company is beyond her, and we got a slowly-run race where she couldn’t use her stride and she was only beaten four lengths.

She got her handicap mark, and I was stupid running her back at a mile and a quarter as she is a mile and a half/mile and six filly. She still ran respectable, but she is better than that and she has an entry at Leicester on Wednesday in a mile and four fillies’ handicap.

He won first time out at Southwell and he won for me last year as well. He ran ok in mid-field in the Britannia Handicap at Royal Ascot and I was question whether we got the trip and we went back to Ascot last time and he jumped out but he has become very lazy. I don’t think he got a mile on soft ground, and he is going to go back over seven furlongs and I will put some headgear on him to make him concentrate. I know he is a very good horse and I just want to see him back in the winner’s enclosure.

He is a nice horse who has disappointed me with his temperament. He gets himself psyched up and tends to do too much. I dropped him back to a mile at Bath last time and he didn’t show any form at all. It has been hard to put a finger on it, but we will give him a break of three weeks and see where we go.

She is a lovely filly in the making and is a filly for next year and the year after. Her first run was great where she was still very weak and then she finished second on faster ground. She is going to go to Doncaster for a novice next week and if we don’t go there, we might go to Deauville for a listed contest. If she does well in one of those races, we will have a stab at a good race, but her future lies in the year after. She will only have one or two more runs this year.

He ran well first time out and second time I thought he would win, and I was very disappointed he got beaten. He came home and next morning he couldn’t walk behind, and he has torn a muscle from the back of the saddle down his back. He is ready to work again now and has been cantering back for three weeks. I like him a lot and he will win races.

He is a very nice horse by Waldgeist who won the Arc, and he is a horse that has a great temperament. I think he will want a trip and we may start him over a mile. I don’t think you will see the best of him until the backend of the year and as a three-year-old. I think he is a stayer in the making.
