Expert Analysis

A trio of useful novices, but some way removed at this stage from showing the form that will be required to win the race for which this is a stated Trial back here in March. It was also run at a slow pace – resulting in an overall time about 9.0s slower than the Greatwood Handicap Hurdle before it, and nearly all of that difference coming over the first few flights – so may not prove the most reliable of form.

I LIKE TO MOVE IT (h138 here and previously) has done well to win all three outings over hurdles but could hardly have been found a softer Grade 2 here, making all, quickening 2 out and kept up his work. He is jumping better with experience and could improve further.

WASHINGTON (h133 here and previously) might have won quite a good novice at Bangor the time before and ran like one with useful ability here, travelling well held up despite a few minor mistakes, little more than a length down turning in and keeping on again having been just unable to go with the winner. He is stoutly bred and likely to improve again.

PIKAR (h130? here, 119+ previously) showed something again, mostly in second but tapped for toe after 2 out and third, likely to have finished 2 or 3 lengths behind the runner-up, when over-jumping and coming down at the last.
