Verdict
A former bumper winner, the Gordon Elliott-trained WILLIAM BUTLER can register a first success over flights. Already placed twice from four starts over hurdles, the gelding has the experience to take a race of this nature. Fitted with first-time blinkers here, the five-year-old is likely to be ridden prominently around a tight track that suits such tactics. Having run his best race over hurdles to date when stepped up to this trip at Cork last time, the Philip Rothwell-trained Reiki Revolution should be a serious threat. A proven stayer, who had the speed to win a bumper, the Wings Of Eagles gelding won't be far away. Hurdling newcomer North Moon has to be respected for trainer Willie Mullins.
Expert View Verdict
Reiki Revolution and William Butler are closely matched on their good maiden placed efforts at up to 3m. They are both bumper winners who have shown a liking for good ground and set a clear standard on ratings. However they have been beaten favourites and may be vulnerable to a talented newcomer such as NORTH MOON. He shaped better than the finishing figures suggest on his sole bumper start and is open to significant improvement now hurdling up in trip for top connections.
