Expert Analysis

The customary single-figure field, with a couple of those rather making up the numbers, but it took very smart performances indeed to make the first 2, with the winner going odds against in running as the 2nd briefly looked to have got away from him. The pace was pretty tepid, reflected by the winner’s final 400m of 21.93s (110.3% finishing speed) on ground that was no slower than good judged on times throughout the card.

SOSIE (120 here and previously) is a talented sort if possibly not 100% straightforward, almost caught out by a tactical race at this still shorter trip but getting up with 100m to go having been stoked along fully 600m out. He showed a tendency to edge right, especially when first under the whip, but stuck his head down where it mattered and should be suited by a truer gallop if kept to this sort of distance.

SARDINIAN WARRIOR (118 here, 114+ previously) ran a cracker, confirming himself not far off high-class, though he did get a canny ride to go with it, never far away and striking for home with 400m to go, briefly a couple of lengths up but overhauled with 100m to go. Chances are he will not get much further than this.

HORIZON DORE (113 here, 114 previously) ran creditably, typically dropped out and making good headway until one paced late on.

ELMALKA (105 here, 110 previously) ran respectably again, well there until outpaced in the final 400m.

DARE TO DREAM (103 here, 108 previously) was held up and never on terms.

CARAMELITO (106 here, 113 previously) weakened after getting the run of things up front until 400m out.
