Open race to start the card but have sided with POIEMA (10) on top. She was tested at group level last time in and wasn't disgraced. The debut effort at Caulfield in a handy race is good enough to be strongly considered here. OUR TOTAL RECALL (15) is an imported two-year-old having his first run in this area for the Michael Moroney stable. He's trialled well and should be respected. LOVETTA (9) is a filly Lonhro who was an AUD $550,00 yearling who has jumped out well for a strong stable. STAR HARMONY (16) was just fair on debut at Sandown-Hillside but should find this easier.

ALL SHE WROTE (6) looks well placed here. She closed off well for second at Wangaratta on resumption and will strip fitter. Her efforts last time in read very well for this and she should go close. DARCI'S DEBUT (7) was okay on debut at Ballarat and has been given time to mature, looms as a danger. MRS BULL (14) ran midfield on debut at Swan Hill in a pleasing effort. With race improvement she can run an improved race. PHILADELPHIA FREE (3) was just fair first up but is better suited to the rise in trip today.

CARMEN LUCIA (7) was well in the market first up and ran fourth at Ballarat Synthetic. She will strip much fitter with a host of gear changes for today's run. JACK'S HONOUR (2) closed off well for third last time over this trip. He'll get back from a tricky draw but is ready to peak here. FLYING CARMEN (8) was beaten 7 lengths into second first up at Casterton, no match for the winner. She'll appreciate a rise in trip here. LAURION (4) ran an improved race last time at this track and rates as a top four chance in an open race.

APPEALING (2) makes most appeal here after boxing on for a strong second when resuming at Pakenham Synthetic. Will strip fitter and maps for another soft run on the speed. POLITE APPLAUSE (10) ran well last time out on heavy ground at Wangaratta. She can make further improvement today. FRONT LAWN (6) ran a good race when up to this trip last start at Swan Hill. She draws softer today and can improve again. BEACH STREET (3) closed off well over 1200m last time out and looks ready for a step up in trip now.

JUKILA (6) was a dominant winner over this track and distance last time out when able to lead throughout. He only rises 2kg in weight and will prove hard to beat. BORDER LEICESTER (3) was solid over 2200m at Ballarat Synthetic last time out but is much better suited over the marathon trip and will stay all day. BAZINI (2) is a sound stayer who will appreciate the extra trip and must be respected for the Wilde stable. BOYSZEE (1) was just fair last time but must be respected for the Maher & Eustace stable.

JAPERY (2) was well fancied last time but found a couple better at Murray Bridge, running a sound third. This is a sharp drop in grade and if he runs out the 1600m he should be hard to beat. HEAVENLY EAGLE (8) found the line well in a stronger race at Flemington last time out and now looks ready for the extra trip. PODIUM (11) has been let-up since struggling when well in the market at Randwick-Kensington but best form would see him very competitive. OTYRAR (9) was just fair when well in the market at Ballarat Synthetic but will strip fitter and can improve.

COMANCHE NORTH (8) was a dominant winner in maiden grade at Wangaratta when able to sit close to the speed. If the track stays wet he should revel again and prove tough to beat. REAL GUN (2) was well fancied last time at Echuca, running a sound third. He's racing well and must be included again. LOUDUN (7) went out for a spell as a winner and has been given time to mature. FROM PANTHERLAND (15) has taken on strong races throughout his career and can run well despite the drop in trip.

DAZZLING LUCY (9) was a dominant winner first up last time in at Mornington over 1000m and followed that up with a sound effort in much higher grade behind Najmaty at Caulfield. She's jumped out well enough on heavy ground and should prove hard to beat. TARARUA (8) was a dominant winner on debut at Camperdown, winning by 8 lengths. Has spelled since then and can measure up. UPPER EAST SIDE (3) wasn't far away here over 1000m last time and looks better suited to the 1100m this time. PRINCE OF MERCIA (6) won well first up at Geelong and a repeat of that effort would see him in the finish here.

Siding with KOMACHI (7) in an open race to finish. He was very good first up at Ballarat before an even showing last time and looks ready to peak here third up with blinkers on first time. FREE FLYING STAR (15) closed off strongly on heavy ground at Echuca and looks well placed to go on with it here. YELDARB (1) loves wet ground and is a proven weight carrier, a good chance to go back to back. GREY WHISPER (10) was just fair behind Yeldarb last time and would appreciate a drying track.
