CUBAN CAT improved on his debut to go very close when running on for second over 5.5f here last time out. There should be more to come, especially over this longer trip, and today could be his day. Loft Light is moving in the right direction and is another that looks sure to appreciate the step up to 7f, while Nocatee drops in grade after a decent effort over 6f here latest.
Grace N Goodspeed suggested further would suit when second over 6f here last month, but so did MARETHANAMIRACLE who put up the highest last speed-figure to go close over 5.5f. She gets the nod, although Rossiya made an encouraging debut over 5f here and could be a threat with that experience under her belt.
DUNEMOOR has been knocking hard on the door since switching to turf and ran on to go a close second over 1m here latest. This extra furlong should suit and a rail draw could be enough to see him get off the mark. Monster Winner broke his duck in a maiden here last time out and there should be more to come, while Gaelic Sunrise relished a return to grass when second (Stormworthy third) in a similar C&D event last month.
Angel Of God is a leading contender on speed-figures and must be considered as she drops in grade. Bon Bon Princess can be excused for her latest outing as she didn't get the 6f trip, she was knocking on the door over this sort of distance previously and has every chance today. Elsewhere, Balada looks an interesting newcomer and should be monitored in the market.
VIRGO VIXEN just got the better of River Maam when filling the runner-up berth in a similar C&D event last month, they could be tough to separate again here but Kirk Ziadie's charge is taken to frank the form with connections firing on all cylinders. Love is the answer has been in good heart over further and is a threat as he reverts to sprinting.
Festive Music could have more in the tank after making the frame over C&D latest and Career Cat was second in a similar event here earlier this month. Mulligan has claims on his best form but is out of sorts, so the preference is for DOC'S WHEATEY. The progressive colt ran second in a higher grade over 6f at Suffolk Downs last time out and is the fastest of today's starters.
Minaka went close in this grade over C&D before struggling in a higher grade and can fight it out back at this level with SINCERE MAN, who broke his duck over a 5.5f here latest. That will have bolstered his confidence and Harry Benson's charge receives the tentative vote. Point Fear has been well below his best on turf recently but will relish a return to dirt and it would be no surprise to see him in the shake-up.
MISS MARONIE has plenty going for her here, coming into the race following a smooth success over this track and trip and the advantageous rail post draw. This combination should be enough for a follow victory. There are plenty of dangers, though, including Simply Jolie, who put up a useful speed figure when scoring here on his penultimate outing. One to consider at a bigger price is Dont Say No Sierra, who returns to the right grade tonight having been set some stiff tasks.
DONNA IS A DISH finished a creditable runner-up on her last attempt in this class back in July and looks capable of going one better this evening. Having run well for a long way in a better event last time, Tripika can improve and have her say while Pyrite C.U. can improve for her debut run for her in-form stable.
