Dame Rose and Just Janice both have something to prove on their recent performances. The former won a Listed contest at Newbury in December but has shown very little since, while the latter won a Grade 3 at Down Royal and has been beaten a combined total of 99 lengths in three starts since. Preference, therefore, goes to DAME DE COMPAGNIE, who was last seen finishing second at Ascot in February and arrives here a fresh horse with good ground likely to suit Nicky Henderson's inmate. Spice Girl was out of her depth at the Cheltenham Festival behind Laurina but this is more up her street and it would be no surprise to see her run well, while Presenting Pearl should be suited by a step up in trip after winning on hurdles debut at Huntingdon.

THE BAY BIRCH arrives in the form of her life having won three of her last four starts in excellent style and a 6lb penalty here shouldn't prove enough to stop this progressive mare. Socksy is a consistent individual who could find further improvement for the application of first-time blinkers, while Tara Mist looks best of the remainder on her form shown so far over fences.

THE ORGANIST has had a very consistent season and arrives here on the back of a fine effort in the Coral Cup where she finished fifth to Bleu Berry. That form is by far the strongest on offer here and she was unlucky in this race 12 months ago when badly hampered at a crucial point. Brillare Momento won the Listed novices' hurdle contest at this meeting 12 months ago and is respected on her eighth in the Martin Pipe to Blow By Blow, while Indian Stream, The Delray Munky and Oscar Rose are also noted.

FOXY LASS has some form with some decent rivals in Irish juvenile hurdles and looks the one to concentrate on making her handicap debut in this sphere for Denis Hogan in what looks a fairly weak contest on paper. Shine Baby Shine was behind Malaya at Ascot on her latest start and should go well on that form, while Hillcrest Fire looks capable of showing improved form on a sounder surface.

A difficult to puzzle to solve with some quirky, and out of form, individuals going to post. Sister Sibyl's runner-up effort at Warwick is the best last-time-out form on offer and she should go close with a repeat display, while The Nipper has tons of ability but often doesn't show it. The safest bet might be the top-rated GOT AWAY. She won a 2m6f Listed event at Leicester only two starts ago and could be ridden more aggressively over this shorter trip. If getting into a rhythm under Aidan Coleman, she might prove difficult to peg back.

DEFINITELYANOSCAR confirmed promise shown between the flags when impressively beating the reopposing Tashunka (second) amongst others on her NH debut at Market Rasen and, although a penalty will make life tough, this exciting prospect is fancied to score again. Fergal O'Brien's charge has to be respected meeting on 4lb better terms, while runaway Plumpton scorer Queen's Magic is sure to have plenty of supporters partnered by the champion jockey. There are many others with claims including Kim Bailey's pair Lady Of The Night and Diamond Gait, first-time-out winners Mabela and Giving Back and Nicky Henderson's Lust For Glory.
