MANITOU sets the standard with his placed efforts at both Ffos Las and Newmarket and, entitled to improve for a subsequent gelding operation, he could make it third-time lucky. Narasha looked green when sixth on her debut at Nottingham 18 days ago and she can improve on that effort here, while any market support for Andrew Balding's newcomer Vetiver could well be worth noting.

If taking his place in the line-up (also declared to run here on Monday), GUMAIS will prove extremely hard to beat. He has gone close over longer trips at Leicester and Ffos Las, and this drop in distance shouldn't bother him. Jax Edge was much better at Salisbury latest and warrants respect on her handicap debut, while the first-time-visored Acton Bell also has a squeak.

Peachey Carnehan is the top-rated performer in this line-up and the past C&D scorer must enter calculations, but narrow preference is for BAMA LAMA. Rod Millman's charge has been hammering on the door, both over this trip and 5f, and she looks sure to mount a bold bid. Fact Or Fable and Quarter Blue also hold claims in what looks a wide-open contest.

WILLINGLY arrives here on the back of two victories in recent weeks and a 6lb rise for the latest of those wins may not be enough to stop her from making it a hat-trick. Glamorous Force was not beaten far over C&D recently and is an obvious threat off a 2lb lower mark. Hattie C and Blue Venture are others to note.

It is hard to oppose BROADSPEAR, who has hit the crossbar on multiple occasions and he was not beaten far on his handicap bow at Haydock last time off a mark of 82. If the recently-gelded son of Le Havre can run to that level of form again, he will be difficult to beat. Painless Potter is another with valid form claims, while La Referi is a newcomer to note.

AUTUMN FESTIVAL was a very impressive nine-length winner over C&D last week and he is clearly the one to beat based on that evidence, despite having to carry a 6lb penalty. Return Voyage has shown promise in maiden/novice events and she has to be of some interest on her handicap debut. Porterinthejungle also merits a place on the shortlist.
