Field of Vision should be thereabouts after his brace of runner-up efforts, likewise Crombay who showed significant promise on her Redcar debut when missing out by the minimum distance. Jockey bookings would indicate Tholen is preferred of the Johnston duo despite finishing last of six on her Goodwood debut and improvement is clearly anticipated. However, EJAAZAH may have finished ninth of 13 on her Ascot debut but that rates a useful contest and she ran with distinct promise before fading late on.

DUKE COSIMO has missed the frame in three starts this term but things haven't fallen his way and he's now dropped to a mark just 1lb higher than when landing a competitive contest on his final start of 2014 for Ripon's Great St Wilfrid consolation race. Franny Norton is booked and he should go well. Gramercy has only won once since 2010 but keeps threatening to crop up and warrants shortlist inclusion alongside habitual trailblazer Dr Red Eye, well worth a chance over this sprint trip.

Mark Johnston fields Sennockian Star and MASTER OF FINANCE as was the case at the Epsom Derby meeting when the latter ran a cracking third compared to his stable companion coming home one from last. Indeed, Sennockian Star has become really hard to read and we'll go along with the more consistent profile of George Challoner's mount. Godolphin are also doubly represented with Mythical Madness nominated as the main danger to the selection although a market move for Good Contact would need to be taken seriously.

SOME SITE is a lightly-raced filly who remains open to any amount of improvement after just the four starts. Something was probably amiss when she disappointed as a beaten favourite at Pontefract 11 months ago and she hasn't been seen since. Hopefully all is well with her now and she can confirm the promise of useful efforts in Salisbury and Hamilton maidens. Poetic Verse seems sure to be on the premises once more with Rowlestone Lass and Grand Liaison also of interest.

ROUDEE has gone well on all four starts around this unique circuit and gained a C&D success last time despite breaking loose on the way to the start. He's been raised 5lb for that victory but course form can mean a lot around here and he's taken to follow up. Beau Eile will go close if repeating the level of an excellent performance at the York Dante meeting last time and is also a potential improver, whilst the consistent Bowson Fred cannot be discounted either.

Pretty Bubbles and Tea Gown are running well but both look to have their fair share of weight, whilst it will be interesting to see how BREAKABLE, two wins from her last three starts, handles her first visit to the track. She's certainly in good heart at present and should be in the shake-up once again after handling the gradients of Catterick effectively last time. Invoke should run her race again although there is the suspicion she's in the grip of the assessor.

18:35 Chester (Class 4) (3YO plus)

A trappy "getting out stakes" but MAMBO PARADISE is three from six so far with the potential for further progress as the sole three-year-old. She shows a good attitude in her races, should be suited by this step-up in trip and Franny Norton should be able to ride his race from stall six. Gambino and Intrepid bring recent winning figures to the table and Kalk Bay was right back to form at York last time. He's respected along with the consistent Lawyer and the contrastingly inconsistent Shahdaroba.
