ANEEN would have learnt a lot from her debut when she was a fast-finishing fourth at Leopardstown last month in a race that has worked out well. If she takes a step forward this afternoon then the daughter of Lawman could well prove very hard to beat. Feathery was only narrowly beaten at Tipperary last week and she merits the utmost respect, as do Nutcracker Suite and Old Time Waltz. Alluringly, Faradays Law, Sea Of Antiquity and Tempera are all interesting debutants.

FIT FOR FUNCTION beat a decent yardstick in the shape of Indrahar at Dundalk last month and he could be set to follow up despite the competitive nature of this event. He handles any ground and can perform with credit here before enjoying a fruitful winter back on the Polytrack. Feeling Easy put a big field to the sword at this venue just 18 days ago and has to be respected despite a 6lb rise, while Intense Stylist should be on the premises once more.

A number of these look to have chances, so DOONARD PRINCE receives what can only be a tentative vote. He will arrive full of confidence following his comfortable victory in a similarly competitive C&D handicap last month and a 7lb rise might not be enough to anchor him if arriving in the same mood. Secret Path was only beaten a head on her handicap debut at Naas and is likely to go close again, while Double Fast, Full Shilling, Eye Glass and Gainmill Girl are others to keep an eye on.

This looks to be a very good maiden and plenty of these candidates could be worth a place in the notebook for next year. World War cost an eye-watering 1,200,000gns as a yearling and should stay well on this decent surface, while Jim Bolger's Dubai Sand is fancied to have come on plenty for his August debut at this venue. Aidan O'Brien cannot be ignored in such events and the pick of his four entrants looks to be DIODORUS, who looks sure to continue his progression and justify his future fancy entries in the Irish 2,000 Guineas and Investec Derby.

ALYSSUM made a debut full of promise when chasing home Etched on her debut at Naas in August, finishing her race off strongly, and she should prove hard to beat this afternoon with that initial experience under her belt. Surprisingly has been sent off favourite for both of her starts so far and although yet to hit the target, she shaped particularly well on her debut at this track in August and looks a big threat on that form. Atrocious conditions appeared against Train Time at Listowel but she remains a promising filly having caught the eye when third at Killarney previously.

LOVE IN THE SUN showed a likeable attitude when landing her second career victory at Listowel last month and the daughter of Kodiac can be followed to strike once more while the blue touch paper is lit. Both of her victories have come on heavy ground but she should handle this better surface and is taken to defy a 9lb rise. Dancing Noretta could go well at a price, while Kubali has to be respected despite a mammoth 16lb hike in the ratings after finally getting off the mark last time out.

PLAIN TALKING has some smart hurdles form to her name having finished fourth behind the potentially classy Airlie Beach last time out at Gowran Park and if she can translate that form to this sphere then she would rate as the one to beat. A mark of 61 looks fully reasonable and she could take some stopping, with Mainicin and Sir Raston also fancied to be involved at the finish for their respective leading trainers. Camlann had his excuses for a poor display last time out and merits respect once more.
