Verdict

A competitive race. FLOWER'S RIDGE showed promise on his local debut and it would not be much of a surprise if he went one better this time. WIND SOCK has been runner-up in four of his last five starts but has tended not to finish off his races. He deserves a win and should be right there at the finish. ARCTIC ADVANCE was a bitter disappointment last time as his rival had been well beaten by him a couple of times. He has a winning chance, though. BOLD CAPTAIN is fit and well and from a good draw must be respected.

Verdict

HERODOTUS has only the two wins to show for his 27 starts which must be a disappointment to his connections. But he did run well last time and is weighted to go very close to winning. Newly turned three-year-old PEACE IN OUR WORLD had stable companion SAFARI BLUE behind when they met last time and both look promising sorts. PEACEFUL DAY was not disgraced when third last time and should be fitter this time and must be considered as well.

Verdict

A weak maiden field and a number of them have winning chances. MHLABENI was only a modest fourth last time but could do a bit better this time. KUNTA KINTE was not disgraced on local debut and could be the right one. Stable companion RED RULES has been threatening to win and does look course-and-distance suited. Stable companion from the Gavin Smith yard NUSSPLY, as well as GRACE FROM ABOVE would not be surprise winners. QUEEN LOUISE tends to lack a strong finish but is also not out of it.

Verdict

An open-looking race and it may be worth going wide in the exotics. RATTLE MOUSE ran a cracker last week and looked a bit unlucky, but she has not been a reliable sort. Stable companion SILVER TIARA was not far behind which does cast a shadow on the form of that race, FIND ME UNAFRAID was unlucky last time and could do a lot better this time. But it is a tough race in which to be very confident. NIPPY SWEETIE, AMERICAN LANDING and PALO ALTO are all capable of winning as well.

Verdict

Another tough race and we need to go as wide as possible in the exotics to survive. BAD HABIT returns to the turf and an improved run is likely. REGAL GRADUATION has been poor of late but her merit rating has tumbled and she could improve. KISS OF LIFE may be at her best over a bit further but she can certainly win a race of this nature. INTREPID TRAVELLER is very consistent and can contest the finish. SOUND CHECK is better than her last run would suggest and if fit and well deserves some respect.
