SWINGTHEWILLOW disappointed last time out. He is quite capable of winning a race and makes his local debut under the care of trainer Gavin Smith. QUE ES VAR has been struggling for some time but is in good form at the moment and will give them something to chase down and may keep going this time. TJOKLIT is another battler but he could also run well over this course and distance. SIEVER'S POINT disappointed last time but is capable of doing better.

KINGSTON ROCK did not show his best side in a better field than this last time. This course and distance suits and KINGSTON ROCK does look the one to beat. IRON HENRY was well beaten behind his heavily backed stable companion last time out. His form on this surface is very good and IRON HENRY can recoup some losses. ELEGANT GENERAL has not won for some time but is always capable of earning some money. MAGIC BLAZE needs to find a few lengths to win but could earn some minor money.

ARCTIC ADVANCE has tended not to finish off his race but does look the right one in this very weak field. CONSTELLATION CODE has run many lengths behind rival before but should do a lot better this time around and could be the biggest threat. GRACE LIGHTNING is battling to win but should be in the final shake-up and must be considered. GLOBAL TIGER and LORD ADMIRAL both make their local debut and could make vast improvement.

Expert View Verdict

Trainer Gavin Smith could have another decent day and he holds a strong hand in this race. BHAKKA won well on local debut. He did not repeat that level last time out when on this surface. He must be given the utmost respect. Stable companion IMPERIOUS DUKE looks to be improving and can fight out the finish once again. CORSAGE and NINJINSKY'S SON are two others who are better than their most recent runs would suggest and must also be considered for large exotic perms.

Verdict
Expert View Verdict

A difficult race to be confident about. HERODOTUS has been a disappointment of late and would probably prefer further but if in the mood he can certainly win a race like this. The same can also be said of NAAFER and both could like the Polytrack. VALETORIO showed nothing on local debut but could improve on this surface. INHERIT THE RAIN and STAGE DANCE have both shown a liking for the Polytrack and could fight out the finish as well.

Watch out for: Harlequin Jack (3)

INHERIT THE RAIN left his previous effort behind on his latest outing and has leading claims. Herodotus will probably give the selection most to think about, while Stage Dance could also get a look-in.

GLOBAL DRUMMER has done all that has been asked of him of late winning his last four starts. There is no real reason to suggest he cannot win this race as well. He may not be allowed to dictate matters from the front this time, though, as stable companion THE HIGHWAY MAN has won many races when dictating matters. EARTH HOUR is better than his last run and will be right there at the finish yet again. CARIOCA and PHIL'S POWER did not show their best last time but can earn some money as well.
