Dual bumper scorer FLORAL SPINNER made a hurdling debut full promise when beaten just over five lengths into third over 2m5f at Plumpton recently, shaping as though this longer trip would be right up for street. She is taken to put that experience to good use and get the better of Old Dreams, who opened her account at the third attempt when landing a 1m6f NH flat race with ease last month and Nick Gifford's charge is sure to be popular ahead of her first hurdling assignment. Smart bumper performer Umadachar was very disappointing on her recent jumping debut but cannot be written off just yet.

Sir Fredlot, a fair sort on the level, pulled nicely clear of third when touched off at Sandown on his hurdling bow and that experience is expected to have brought him on. He is taken to go one better today but could be given plenty to think about by Sir Fredlot, a winner on the Flat at Tramore second time out in August and making his debut for Tim Vaughan today. Mick Channon tends to do well with his NH runners so dual 7f winner Shamrocked warrants respect on his first outing over timber.

It is hard to oppose SHUTTHEFRONTDOOR as he makes his eagerly-anticipated hurdling bow. Jonjo O'Neill's gelding was favourite for the Champion Bumper after landing three from three in that sphere but failed to make it to the Cheltenham Festival. He beat some good opposition on his last two starts and could be anything over timber this season, so he can to land this before going on to bigger things. Explained was also unbeaten in NH flat races but was well beaten into third when sent over timber at Uttoxeter earlier in the month. However, the winner landed a Grade 2 at Cheltenham on Sunday so the form doesn't look too bad and Tim Vaughan's charge can give the selection most to think about, ahead of Chain Reactor.

Future Profit continues to slide down the weights and is beginning to look well treated, while Wily Fox returns to hurdles on the back of a good effort on the level and could improve on his previous jumps form. He will need to, though, and preference is for TODAREISTODO, who found only one too good on his return to action at Chepstow earlier this month and is expected to come on for that first run since May.

PETE THE FEAT has improved a bundle since joining Charlie Longsdon and made it two from two for his new yard when scoring over 3m2f at Plumpton last month. He has gone up 9lb for that effort but did the job with ease and shaped as though there could be plenty more to come, so he is taken to complete the hat-trick. However, Just Josie is also on a three-timer following two C&D victories and won with enough in hand last time to suggest a 10lb hike won't prevent anther bold bid. Fakenham scorer Local Present is another to consider.

This looks a good opportunity for SULPIUS to follow up his recent Fontwell success. Bob Buckler's inmate shaped as though further would suit when staying on well to score comfortably over 2m2f 11 days ago and that form has been boosted by runner-up winning well since, so a 10lb rise in the ratings doesn't look enough to halt him. Reste Jeune unseated in a race won by Forever My Friend in September but the latter's two subsequent outings suggest he is in the handicapper's grip now and Nick Gifford's six-year-old can give the selection most to worry about if putting in a clear round.

Massannie scored on his debut in January but has struggled on both starts since. He has a few questions to answer now so it could pay to side with a newcomer, namely BRANTINGHAM BREEZE. A half-sister to some useful performers, this 24,000-pound purchase represents the in-form Emma Lavelle stable and is sure to know her task first time out. Fountains Mary, Just Walking Jack and On The Move are other respected newcomers and should be monitored for support in the betting market.
