FEARLESS won at Market Rasen earlier in the year like a horse with a bright future and, on that evidence, looks capable of winning this race under a penalty on his return. Richard Johnson keeps the ride, which is a huge positive, and he can go in again at the main expense of Uttoxeter winner Shinobi, who has also won a bumper. Le Boulevardier has been knocking on the door in that sphere and is another expected to go well on his hurdles bow.
LORD BADDESLEY showed plenty in a brace of bumpers last season, and with his debut form looking particularly strong, he's fancied to make the perfect start over hurdles. Shinobi was rather impressive at Uttoxeter for all that the race fell apart, so he's expected to be competitive under a penalty, as is Market Rasen winner Fearless, who returns from 6 months off.

If I K BRUNEL runs up to his mark of 140 then the rest are probably booked for supporting roles. Olly Murphy's charge was highly tried as a hurdler last season and achieved such a rating by running fourth behind The Big Breakaway at Newbury before comfortably accounting for a pair of 135-rated hurdlers at Musselburgh. He's expected to have been well readied for this first start over fences and appeals more than Coolanly and Mason Jar.
Fergal O'Brien has his string in fine form and his COOLANLY is a confident selection to get off the mark over fences at the third attempt after hitting the frame a couple of times last year. I K Brunel produced a career-best effort when last seen scoring over timber at Musselburgh 8 months ago and he should provide stern opposition on his chasing bow.
